• HUF 43,700 per month (approx. €110) throughout the entire academic year.
  This stipend supports daily living expenses but does not fully cover all costs, especially in major cities.

3. Accommodation Support
Students receive either:

• A free place in a university dormitory, OR

• HUF 40,000 monthly housing allowance (approx. €100).

4. Health Insurance

• Additional private medical coverage up to HUF 65,000 per year

Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, applicants must meet specific criteria:

1. Citizenship Requirements
Applicants must come from a country that has an active educational cooperation agreement with Hungary. Citizens and dual nationals of Hungary are not eligible.

2. Age Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years old by 31 August 2026, except for Dance programmes where younger applicants may be accepted.

3. Academic Requirements

• Bachelor’s applicants must hold a secondary school certificate.

• Master’s applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree.

4. Language Requirements

Procedure – Step by Step

Step 1: Review Eligibility & Programme Requirements
From now until December 2025, applicants should research available programmes, eligibility criteria, and required documents.

Step 2: Submit Online Application
Apply through apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu before 15 January 2026 at 14:00 CET.

Step 3: Technical Evaluation
The Tempus Public Foundation screens applications for completeness, accuracy, and eligibility.

Step 4: Nomination by Sending Partner
Your home country’s Sending Partner reviews your application and decides whether to nominate you.

Step 5: University Entrance Examinations
Selected applicants undergo examinations between March and May 2026, which may include:

• Written tests

• Online interviews

A minimum score of 56/100 is required.

Step 6: Final Selection & Scholarship Allocation
